10 Steps to Achieving Your Dreams.

All of us can be great. To be honest, it’s nothing special. I know, that might come as a shock, but it’s true: Because every person on this planet has the potential to be great…

… it’s really not that big a deal.

Here’s what is a big deal:

Actually being great. Forget potential. Potential sits and collects dust. It’s a wonderful thing to have – but using that potential is even better.

There’s only one sure fire way to do that:

You have to live and breathe your dreams. You have to constantly remind yourself of how bad you want them. By doing this, you’ll automatically take action to achieving your goals.

Think of it as an itch. Maybe if your leg itches for a second, you’ll try and ignore it and see if it goes away.

But if it keeps itching… and the itch grows… you have no choice but to scratch it, right?

Your dreams are the same way.

You have to turn them into a constant “itch” so that you’re constantly working on achievement. It’s easy to just do the status quo. And heck, plenty of people live great lives just doing that.

But it’s not about what you “could” do – it’s about what you feel you need to do deep down.

The thing is, a lot of people will tell you that it’s “alright” if you just do the status quo. They may even discourage you from going for your dreams. After all, it’s a scary thing to do. If you think of the billions of people in the world – it’s a very small minority who step up to the challenge of their hearts and go for what they really want.

I can understand why.

Putting yourself out there is scary. Declaring to the world that you want to go pro takes guts. Maybe your dream is to get a full ride through college. Maybe it’s to get a full ride and then go pro.

Whatever it is, decide if you feel you’re really worth it. And if you feel you are…

Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and accept that from here on out… that’s your mission in life.

Here are 10 questions and thoughts to ponder every day to make that mission come to life:

  1. What is my dream?

  2. How bad do I want it?

  3. What am I willing to do TODAY to get it?

  4. “You’ll never get a Purple Heart hiding in a foxhole” – Cpt. Henry P. Crowe

  5. “The status quo sucks.” – George Carlin

  6. It doesn’t matter what everyone around me is doing. It only matters what I am doing to reach my goals.

  7. I CAN do this. It’s only a matter of time and effort.

  8. Who in my life is helping me grow and nurture my dreams?

  9. How can they help me even more? (We all need a support team)

  10. “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough.” – Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

If you start every day focusing on thoughts like these – you won’t have any choice  but to take action. You’ll work harder. You’ll go the extra mile. With that dream burning in your heart, you’ll become unstoppable.

Till next time,
