There are many great sprinting exercises to increase an athlete’s speed. Speed training should be part of any sports training as every sport benefits when the athletes are able to run faster.
There are many skills designed to help an athlete improve their form while sprinting. Ankling is one of them. Ankling improves an athlete’s running form because they learn to run and land on a dorsiflexed ankle. This means that their toes are curled up towards their shin before and after they make contact with the ground. This is all accomplished without having the toes hit the ground. With the ankle dorsiflexed, while the athlete is taking the quick sprinting steps, they will help to speed up their hip flexion. This will not only help with their sprinting time but will also minimize any Achilles and shin pain that may be associated with certain sprinting exercises.
