21 Reasons to Get Your Butt on the Training Floor

Look, we all have days that we just do NOT want to train! Happens to me and everyone here at CORE1 from time to time.

But training is what’s going to take you from Point A (where you are now) to Point B (where you want to be).

Every time you don’t want to train – and you do it anyway – you have no idea of how much you really accomplish. You’re training your spirit to be stronger than the negative voice we all have inside. You’re training your mind to not back down when outside circumstances get in your way. You’re developing inner strength, determination, and focus.

Plus, you’re advancing your physical fitness.

It might seem simple, but every time you just don’t “feel like it” – and you train anyway – you’re accomplishing something incredible. And you’re separating yourself from the competition.

Athletic success, 9 times out of 10, boils down to doing what others won’t. Others don’t train when they don’t feel like it. Others don’t have the discipline and focus that you do. So train, and train hard.

And any time you’re not feeling motivated, just read through this list. Then go get yourself to the gym or to a CORE1 training session!

Why you should train today:

  1. You’re not your average athlete. You have goals and dreams, and training is a HUGE part of what’s going to get you there.

  2. If you don’t, you’re going to feel like you should’ve. And that’ll just lead to guilt. And guilt leads to distraction, which leads to more not-training.

  3. Because training kicks major butt. What else makes you feel so powerful and alive?

  4. Every amazing athlete around the world who you admire is training today.

  5. What feels cooler: saying, “Eh, I didn’t train today.” Or saying, “Everything in me wanted to sit on the couch, and I trained anyway.”

If you have any stress, training is going to work it out of your life. It’s the most powerful anti-depressant / stress-reliever known to man.

  1. Everything in your life becomes clearer and more focused after a good training session.

  2. Training is where you conquer the voice inside that says “You can’t”

  3. You’re worth it. You deserve success. You deserve to reach your goals. You deserve to train.

  4. Because your opponents are training today.

  5. Every hero of yours trained when they didn’t want to. That’s what separates the champs from the amateurs.

  6. You’ll sleep better.

  7. You’ll feel more alert and energized.

  8. You’ll feel great knowing that you’re doing what it takes to reach your goals.

  9. You’ll be able to face yourself in the mirror.

  10. You’ll inspire everyone in your life who sees you making this tough decision.

  11. You’ll inspire everyone around you at the gym by how hardcore and bad a** you are when you train.

  12. You’ll show yourself than you’re stronger than that negative voice deep inside.

  13. Because you ARE stronger than that voice, and than any other obstacle that dares stand in your way.

  14. Because you’re a CORE1 athlete. You’ve got a reputation to maintain 😉

  15. You got something better to do? 😉

It ain’t always easy to do what needs to be done.

Anyone can train when it’s convenient. Anyone can train when their coach is around and they “have to”. What you do in your free time – when you could be watching TV, chowing down on potato chips – is what builds your character.

So what’s it gonna be? Couch or weights? Potato chips or grilled chicken salad?

It’s up to you.

We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Till next time!
